Mobile carriers in the UAE accept SMS only from registered Sender IDs, according to Twilio’s UAE guidelines. Since MonoChat 3.8.36, released on 26 October 2026, a Twilio SMS channel can be connected with an alphanumeric Sender ID or a Messaging Service, besides a phone number.
A Sender ID channel is send-only: customers cannot reply to messages sent from it. Since MonoChat 3.8.37, the inbox shows a notice on such a channel, so your team knows replies will not come back there.
